After a rough start to 2022, I’ve taken this holiday to get myself back on track. I believe I’ve selected the name for my personal imprint (I’m going to sleep on it for a day or two and see if I still like it). I posted a teaser for the book on Instagram, and I discovered the Alliance of Independent Authors, of which I’m likely to become a member in the near future. It took me a couple of weeks to rediscover the motivation, but I think I have it back now, and I’m just as committed now to getting Her Violet Empire to print in the next couple of months.
I also got some early proofreading and editing of The Beautiful Island done, and it’s getting all Scrivenerized and ProWritingAided. Obviously, I’m going to have my favorite beta readers and editors take a look at it once I’ve given it my first pass. This one is going to be interesting because I plan to include photos. There are literally hundreds of them, and I’m considering adding a glossy photo insert somewhere. If anyone has done that before, I’d love to get some advice there, but I’m still a long way off from that with TBI.
